Jobs

Living with chronic illness, chronic pain, rare disease, and/or disability can significantly impact your ability to land the perfect job.

And what makes the perfect job? Well, for starters the appropriate pay is OBVIOUSLY a need. But we also need to consider willingness to offer reasonable accommodations, an individual’s ability to perform the tasks comfortably, and fulfilling our needs as job seekers not only emotionally, mentally, but also spiritually (in whatever way[s] that is important to you).

Since 1995, this organization has been connecting talented individuals with disability and physical differences with jobs that are both accommodating and fulfilling.

Chronically Capable

Chronically Capable says on their site, “We are working to remove the fear and stigma of living with chronic illness or disability from the hiring process. We create a tacit understanding between employers and jobseekers: employers who are part of our network believe that people living with chronic illness or disability are capable of being productive employees—and jobseekers who use the platform can feel secure that participating employers care about their success.”

I’m Lauren

Welcome to How2NotDie.com. I created this little corner of the internet to be a helpful resource to anyone who’s had questions about Ehlers Danlos, Mast Cells, or Connective Tissue. Whether for providers whom have questions about their patients or for patients that have felt dismissed, misunderstood, or not taken seriously by providers- I want this site to provide answers to questions and peace to chaos. Here, I invite you to join me in compiling, learning, and sharing all of the things that make zebras, well, zebras!
